The high level of mortality recorded in emergency rooms ,has necessitated the need to determine the level of emergency preparedness in terms of knowledge & practices towards it,this will in turn allow proper and adequate planning to mitigate future emergency calamities

Recent outbreak of infectious diseases and other natural/man-made disaster in the west-African subregion has exposed the deficiencies in the level of preparedness of health workers toward mitigation of such and possible aversionof future emergency upsurge

Perspectives

Identifying a problem is a prerequisite to finding its solution and subsequently meeting needs thereof.The level of preparedness for emergency situations in terms of knowledge and practices among health workers in the Nigeria cannot be over-emphasized,there is need for increased knowledge and drills to adequately prepare health workers in the emergency room for future emergency.
