What is it about?

Vegetative matter contact with eye predispose to fungal corneal ulcers: some are treatable and few fungi produce enzymes that melts the cornea rapidly leading to vision loss.

Why is it important?

Present article describes how rapidly cornea destroyed by Aspergillus flavus fungus and timely intervention by therapeutic corneal grafting along with topical antifungal agents administration saved the eye of an young girl.
