What is it about?
MRI has become fast and accurate with technological advances. It was earlier used n pregnancy for clarifying some fetal abnormalities. Our review have highlights emergency situations where MRI can help in making life savings decisions for the mother. Examples are ectopic pregnancy, adherent placenta, antepartum hemorrhage, rupture uterus, twisted ovarian masses and molar pregnancy.

Why is it important?
Ultrasound is the main imaging tool in pregnancy. MRI is capable of serving as an excellent second look imaging tool in cases which are not confidently diagnosed on ultrasound.
