What is it about?

Humankind is forced to learn the art of living with existence since the days of yore, thus worm infestation to humans and animals is common due mainly to failure to look after hygiene. This worm infestation occurs in humans from cattle and other animals, and the eye when affected the only treatment is its removal. Environmental conditions and cattle rearing are the risk factors for its development. Please read the history of such a person infested with this oriental eye worm which is common in hilly and mountainous regions.

Why is it important?

Because when eye is affected it causes irritation and rarely leading to loss of vision. Any worm infestation reflects poorly maintained hygiene of the environment and self too.

Perspectives

Patients often narrates how the worm is removed from the eye with their fingers. Flies carrying eggs/larvae from cattle nasal secretions when contacted exposed parts of human beings (eyes, nose and throats especially in children) the reproduction cycle of the worm progresses and cause ocular discomfort. manual removal if it is in the conjunctival sac or surgical removal if it is in the posterior segment.
