The aim of the study was to understand the different components of the oral health system in Nigeria and the role of the community in strengthening it. The researchers conducted a scoping review of existing literature, including grey literature, peer-reviewed articles, policy documents, and websites.

The authors introduced another important building block; the seventh to the popular WHO health systems building blocks. This adapted framework aids contextualization of a health system approach to oral health care in Nigeria and other developing countries.
Perspectives
There isn't much research done on oral health systems in Nigeria, and there's a lack of information. So, it's really important to gather and summarize existing evidence on this topic. To do that, a scoping review was conducted to explore and understand the overall goal of strengthening the oral health system in Nigeria
