What is it about?

Tensile strength have to has a different correlations to the compressive strength for high strength concrete than for normal strength concrete. These values must be reduced by the increasing the compressive strength. Use of high strength concrete require reliable predictions of correlations of compressive strength with tensile strength or splitting strength.

Why is it important?

Tensile strength of concrete tested by splitting Clear differences between tested samples of Normal and High Strength Concrete is visable. Reduction of the shear forces by β according to the EN 1992-1-1, could cause appearing of inclined cracking in the beams for lower than design value of the shear resistance.

Perspectives

The overall analysis has shown, further testing should be conducted for solving of the shear tension in the reinforced concrete structures.
