Why is it important?

Understanding arsenic tolerance mechanisms is the foundation to find a solution highly contaminated sites. Thus, characterizing the genomic pathways involved in arsenic response in a tolerant bacteria will give the basis knowledge to get closer to a solution oriented to remediate arsenic polluted sites.

Perspectives

In a world that is constantly losing natural resources due to metal and metalloid contamination, I think is very important to try to find biological and sustentable solutions to this problematic. Nonetheless, this work is just the beginning of a bigger study, but sets the foundation that will allow us to start looking for a biotechnological solution to this environmental problem.
