What is it about?

Waste valorisation in production of building materials can be improved by their modification using some treatment technologies. Utilisation of construction and demolition waste (C&DW) for production of concrete is of interest. Fine-grain form can be obtained by techniques like crushing, grinding and sorting as well as by their combinations. The paper is aimed on the utilization of high portion of fine-grain (250 μm) recycled ceramics, glass and concrete for production of new concrete of high fluidity, which is preferred type of concrete consistenxcy in praxis.

Why is it important?

Environmental aspects are at the forefront - minimizing waste that would otherwise have been deposited, saving of natural sources of raw materials for new concrete production, optimizing the concrete properties due to application of specific additives.

Perspectives

Interesting options for optimization of concrete properties by using of unusual components.
