Why is it important?
Matrix Metalloproteinases over expression are important in Carcinogenesis, stem cell differentiation etc.
Perspectives
Nanobioassembly - A quantum dot material is conjugated to a enzyme targeting peptide with black hole quencher dye attached. The nanobioassembly successfully detected the Matrix metalloproteinases presence at the extra cellular matrix of cancer cells, they were imaged with the help of a Nikon high speed multiphoton confocal microscope.
