What is it about?

Polyurethane board is one one of the wide used material in the automotive industry to manufacture checking fixture that is a quality control tool for most of the automotive parts. This material also contain around 12 different grades that differ from their density. A higher density will give a better surface roughness but a higher density polyurethane board is more pricey.

Why is it important?

This experiment contribute in shortening the try out time for the proper milling parameters needed to machining the checking fixture specially when using this grade of polyurethane board as base material

Perspectives

This article has enrich my knowledge in machining specially when dealing with material other than metal. In addition I hope that it will also help others to understand the different checking devices that are used by the automotive industry for their quality control.
