What is it about?
Corrosion is the most detrimental source for reinforced concrete structures. We have shown an axisyimmetric numerical model able to simulate the structural behaviour of bond between steel and concrete. The results of comparison with experimental test and an empirical model proposed in the literature show the effectiveness of the procedure.

Why is it important?
The bond modification, that is the force at the interface between steel and concrete, is of outmost importance because it is accountable for the structural performances. The bond-slip numerical model proposed is able to simulate the bond mechanism between steel and concrete also in presence of corrosion.
