What is it about?
TiO2 dopants are significantly changed the Raman gain spectrum of single-mode fiber. We have shown for the first time that lasing bandwidth in TiO2 doped fiber may be almost twice wider than the lasing bandwidth in standard GeO2 doped fiber.

Why is it important?
We proposed a method for determining the real Raman gain spectrum based on the ordinary spectrum of spontaneous scattering. This is important for developing new and more sophisticated fiber lasers.
