What is it about?
This research investigated mechanical degradation of powder injection moulded SiCpreinforced aluminium composite subjected to moderate temperature exposures at 100, 200 and 300oC for 10 and 100 hours. Mechanical properties involved hardness and tensile testing.

Why is it important?
To understand the materials when subjected to service condition at moderate temperature exposure in terms of degradation. To prevent failure due to degradation during service.
Perspectives
To expand area of engineering applications for composite materials particularly on aluminum composite reinforced with silicon carbide particulate in terms of thermal stability.
