What is it about?
To describe the Fe-based shape memory alloy material characteristic through the transformation kinetics model. Past model is not sufficient to describe the material since it does not show any rate sensitivity. Therefore, a new transformation kinetics model should be rate sensitive. In this study, a new parameter is considered to improve the existing model.

Why is it important?
Fe-based shape memory alloy has been used as pipe joints, damper, fish plates, etc. However, the material deformation behavior at higher strain rate is still unknown. These products such as pipe joints are open to various strain rate due to vehicle, environment, or even natural disaster. One way to improve the material utilization is through computer simulation. Thus, the accurate model of the material is needed.
