What is it about?

Building structures made of reinforced concrete will be subjected to various load conditions causing unforeseen damages. Damages to existing structures will eventually occur and requires constant repair. Hence, this study focuses on the rehabilitation of damage RC beams in shear using CFRP laminates wrapped at intervals within the damage zone.

Why is it important?

Our findings shows that by applying CFRP laminates wrapped within the shear damage zone of the RC beams resulted in an enhanced shear capacity.

Perspectives

From the findings observed, the authors believe that CFRP wrapping technique is a reliable and durable method for the rehabilitation of damage RC beams in shear.
