Why is it important?

The bricks that are of interest are manufactured by local people without any technical understanding on factors affecting the strength. These bricks although produced in a small area, are distributed throughout the entire NE region of Thailand. The main importance is also the fact that RIce Husk Ash (RHA) which is an agricultural waste produced in vast amounts is used as a main component in the fired bricks.

Perspectives

The experiments and findings are still very high upstream. More tests need to be conducted before the understanding can be applied to improve the manufacturing process.
