What is it about?

ability of an image encryption scheme to withstand domain attacks is a critical requirement in cryptography. We examined the response to noise attacks, of a novel image encryption algorithm developed using discrete sequences generated from a 4D hyperchaotic system and Haar discrete wavelet decomposition.

Why is it important?

Our experimental results shows that noise has minimal effects on the decryption performance of the algorithm. We therefore deduced that encrypting an image twice (using two separate hyperchaotic sequences, interspersed with wavelet decomposition technique can increase robustness of an encryption scheme under various attacks

Perspectives

This research confirmed the possibility of encrypting an image twice. The strategy we adopted is very different from what is obtainable in works that reported on encrypting images in double domains. Infact, we encrypted the work in double domain before re-encrypting it again. We have not read about the strategy in any previous work.
