What is it about?

In aeroelasticity flutter is something to be avoided. This paper shows how to increase flutter speed by the use of shunt circuits, which will dissipate the vibration energy of a plate or typical section.

Why is it important?

It is important because flutter leads to catastrophic failure. So the supression of flutter in structures is wanted.

Perspectives

This work is helpfull because it shows that stealing energy from the system does not garantee that flutter speed will increase. It shows results that were not yet achieved.
