Perspectives

One of the problems of development of neutron capture therapy (NСT) malignancies - is the lack of (or unavailability ) neutron source intensity and spectrum required. Nuclear reactor IRT MEPhI created the first (and so far only) in the Russia experimental medical irradiation facilities for neutron capture therapy. At the exit of the tangential channels, a device for thermal neutron irradiation , superficial tumors. On the basis of the thermal column implemented a combined beam of thermal and epithermal neutrons, allowing to process deep-lying tumors.
