What is it about?

its about using carbon and nitrogen stable isotope to trace the food sources for crabs and fishes in mangroves forest whether the crabs and fish rely on mangrove materials and land usage as well..

Why is it important?

the research is important because the Hainan island has one of the largest mangrove forest in China. and since these mangrove is known to serve as habitat for most of these organisms as well as protecting them. there has been intense pressure on the mangroves in the study area and this is affecting the habitat of this organisms.

Perspectives

using stable isotopes to determine the impact of mangrove material to crab and fisheries has proven to be a useful tool and approach into realizing the dependency of these organism on the mangroves.
