What is it about?
It is not always possible to determine engineering properties of rock masses through insitu testing due to heavy cost and inacessible terrain. Emperical estimation of engineering properties is an alternative to this bottleneck. This technique gives reliable values which can be further utilized for engineering design. This work present one such technique.

Why is it important?
By employing the techniques given in this work lot of time and money can be saved.
Perspectives
This work is unique in the sense that not much study has been made in the Himalayan terrain. With lot of infrastructural work being undertaken in Himalayas, Empirical Methods as proposed in this paper can be utilized for determining insitu rock mass engineering properties which can be further utilized for engineering design of civil structures. A lot of time and money can be saved.
