What is it about?

CAD modeling and finite element stress analysis of a trolley for material handling in a manufacturing plant is presented. The work compares the glass fiber trolley with a mild steel trolley in terms of its weight and stress strain behaviour (load carrying capacity).

Why is it important?

In the quality conscious industrial world, ergonomic design consideration of utilities(like material handling equipment) are prominent. Alternative materials to make such equipment, that can reduce the self weight and increase the handling capacity are being appreciated and looked after.

Perspectives

The work details certain aspects of ANSYS modeling with composite materials. Good work, exposing the future trends and prospects for glass fiber as an engineering material and futuristic design of mechanised trolley
