What is it about?
To estimate the amount of calcium hydroxide in concrete by using FT-NIR spectroscopy. Calcium hydroxide was generated by hydration of cement as by-product along with calcium silicate hydrate.

Why is it important?
It's very important that you can estimate the amount of calcium hydroxide in concrete because calcium hydroxide prevents the concrete from corrosion process. It generates passive oxide film to cover reinforcement steel.
Perspectives
I hope this article will be very helpful for someone who trying to find another way to measure the amount of calcium hydroxide in concrete. This can prevent the collapse of concrete in time. If you can take this idea to make something like on-hand FT-NIR to use it on-site, that must be the best idea.
