What is it about?
The evident rise of cement demand in some developing countries as well as the upsurge concerns on environmental issues regarding to cement resources. The usage of Eggshells Powder (ESP) is commendable as an alternative for cement due to its similar chemical composition with the Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) where both materials are principally composed of Calcium Carbonate.

Why is it important?
It was found that it is feasible to utilise Eggshell Powder as a partial cement replacement with the percentage replacement of cement up to 2.5% and its potential for reduction of cement demand as well as to address the environmental problems. This is due to the strength of the concrete which higher when it is mix with eggshells powder than the concrete without eggshells powder.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also lead to reduce the environment issues as long as maintain the strength and durability of the concrete.
