The article deals with making an MCC with Al and red mud and finding its mechanical and wear properties for the application of brake drum as an alternative material. The content of the this paper demonstrated the suitability of Al alloy-red mud based MMC for brake drum applications.

The work discussing the preparation of Al alloy-red mud based MMC and study on the effect of reinforcement content and aging parameters, aging temperature, aging duration on hardness and wear rate of the MMC.
Perspectives
This work is carried as part of my student's PhD work. It is really an interesting work carried for utilizing the by-product (waste) obtained in the process of Al extraction for an important commercial application.
