What is it about?

This article explores the ambitions and factors influencing young women's transition to higher education in rural northern and central Laos, with a particular focus on the interplay between migration and education. Drawing on ongoing research, including a 2018 study involving 302 participants, the article examines the experiences of secondary school girls, their parents, dropouts, those pursuing education through migration, and members of the village Education Development Committee.
