Synthesis of esters derived from 2,3,4-tri-O-benzyl-alpha-D-methylglucoside

What is it about?

Carbohydrate derivatives occur widely in nature and play an essencial role in many biological processes. The regiospecific synthesis of sugar esters is a difficult and challenging task. The ester products derived from methylglucosides were isolated and fully characterized by usual analytical techniques as NMR.
