What is it about?
Determine which advertisements to assign to each user of a virtual platform. It ensured that the ads met the advertiser's requirements related to user features, while also aiming to maximize the platform's overall profit and adhere to certain advertising business rules. We approached the problem using stochastic dynamic programming which allowed us to model the decision-making process more rigorously. We conducted a numerical analysis to evaluate the performance of this approach and compared it with the earlier heuristics. This comparison provided insights into the effectiveness of stochastic dynamic programming relative to the heuristic methods.
