What is it about?

Nystagmus patients often have compromised vision due to the involuntary shaking of eyeballs. The eye muscle surgery done in Nystagmus patients to correct the abnormal head posture also improves the vision.

Why is it important?

The procedures used mainly for correction of abnormal head posture in Nystagmus patients do yield significant improvement in the visual acuity. This improvement is seen in patients undergoing surgery for both horizontal and vertical head postures.
