What is it about?

This paper is on the practice of eating insects (entomophagy) by two major tribes of Arunachal pradesh including the traditional methods used for harvesting the insects for consumption.

Why is it important?

As the practice of insect eating is diminishing owing to modernisation, therefore it prompted us to study and document the edible insects and the traditional knowledge on the collection methods from different ecological habitats.

Perspectives

This work was done to promote the traditional knowledge of collecting insects on a sustainable use of insects as food.
