Why is it important?

In the face of global crises such as resource scarcity, population growth, health epidemics and climate, we need to dig a bit deeper to understand the promises of edible insects, and what their role might be in a sustainable, effective global food and feed system.

Perspectives

Consumption of edible insects is influenced by Knowledge, practices and people's attitudes towards them. In most African nations little as been recorded in these aspects.

There is need to document the knowledge, attitudes and practices towards edible insects in most African communities, in order to enhance its consumption and improve the nutrition of the people.
