What is it about?

This special issue in corporate governance proposes to deal with the diversity of approaches in this area of ​​research. If all approaches presented in this issue helps update knowledge on governance, many other perspectives on governance remain open. Indeed, the theme of corporate governance leads to a reconsideration of the foundations of governance mechanisms in light of the competition between efficiency governance models.

Why is it important?

Most of the corporate governance research focuses further on the study of the relationship between the different control mechanisms (board of directors, officers activism) and their performance. Such studies theoretically mobilizes the agency theory and methodologically quantitative approaches. The disciplinary approach based on assumptions the agency theory and its "avatars" were the most often used. Some prospects should be considered: those organizational, could highlight the interdependence with the environments.
