What is it about?

This publication reviews the special terrestrial fauna of northern Chile; a zone barely known regarding invertebrate species in general. The work focuses in the land snails found in the Atacama region, one of the most driest places in the world.

Why is it important?

This is the first paper reviewing a group of land molluscs in Chile in the last thirty year and it is the first such work focusing in terrestrial molluscs from northern Chile.
