What is it about?
The processes running on the Sun and in the interplanetary space affect the whole Earth's system from the magnetosphere through the ionosphere, thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere and troposphere down to Earth surface and our technologies and maybe also human health. They form space weather and space climate in the same way as terrestrial weather and climate.

Why is it important?
Space weather affect satellites which are more and more important for human life (communications, GPS positioning, weather monitoring etc.) but also technological systems on Earth's like pipelines or electrical grids at higher latitudes and all that is affected also by longer-term changes of space climate.
Perspectives
This work contributes to development of our knowledge of space climate and its changes.
