What is it about?

Today, even world cities bid for hosting mega-events so by the nature of competitive bidding most cities lose. This make the bidding process for mega-events even more important and something to be managed carefully by all related stakeholders.

Why is it important?

This study investigates the power of bidding even the city doesn't host the event at the end by taking Izmir EXPO 2015 candidacy as a case study. If stakeholders work in collaboration and are aware of the different approaches, activities and focuses of one another, then the foundation of an entrepreneurial city is sustained even if the mega-event is not actually held in the city.
