What is it about?
Since the 1970s, the Canadian government has required that at least 65% of songs on French-language radio stations be in French. Why does this rule exist and how does radio cope with it?

Why is it important?
To the best of my knowledge, there is no other article out there focussed on French-language requirements for commercial radio. As radio accompanies us every day, it is important for us to reflect on its cultural impact in our lives.
