What is it about?
This paper argues that David Bordwell's concept of intensified continuity is a useful framework for analyzing the stylistic norms that govern sound design in contemporary mainstream narrative cinema. Using the films of Edgar Wright as case studies, I demonstrate how digital sound technology has allowed filmmakers to balance highly stylized uses of sound with traditional methods of storytelling.
