What is it about?

A novel technique to detect olfactory related deficits in rodents, also used to diagnose AD preclinical

Featured Image

Why is it important?

This is an ecological test, easy to set up, tapping the innate ability of animals to learn and recognise odors. Also relevant for the clinic as olfactory deficits are very common and can be the first signs of dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Perspectives

This test will be translated into a clinical variant, so it could be used to detect subclinical or prodromal Alzheimer's.
