What is it about?

In this video methods paper we demonstrate how to do the PP2A assay step by step

Why is it important?

This is important because PP2A is a major protein phosphatase that dephosphorylates many substrates in brain and other body tissues. In our article we firmly demonstrate that alpha-synuclein is the primary synuclein family member that "stimulates" PP2A activity in brain.

Perspectives

It was exciting working with my talented medical student as he performed experiments in my laboratory to complete his scholarly research project required at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso. He worked under the close supervision of my very skilled postdoctoral research fellow. We worked with professional to produce a video that teaches the methodology and shows how to create some of your own reagents to reduce the cost of the assay.
