What is it about?

The assessment of the prevalence of dead regions (DRs) in school-age children with sensorineural hearing loss and the exploration of the effect of these DRs on temporal resolution ability.

Why is it important?

Sensorineural hearing loss has serious implications on temporal resolution especially when the non-functioning areas known as cochlear dead regions exist.Studying this relationship in children can improve strategies for amplification and temporal processing remediation, enhancing speech perception in these young participants.

Perspectives

the development of temporal processing remediation would be useful for children with sensorineural hearing loss especially those having dead regions.
