What is it about?

Statues of the Roman emperor and his family were set up all across the Roman Empire. This study focuses on displays of statues of one imperial family, the Antonines, in the provinces of Hispania in modern Spain. A close examination of this statuary, particularly where it was set up and by whom, allows us to learn about the life and people of these provincial areas.
