What is it about?
The aim of the research was to test in verbal behavioral (language) tasks, whether training a verbal operant that included the interaction of two verbal operants (impure tact) versus teaching separately both operants (pure and intraverbal touch) has an effect on the derivation of learning (new impure tact).

Why is it important?
These findings have implications at both conceptual and methodological levels. At the conceptual level, it has been identified that impure tacts are distinct verbal operants and cannot be conceptualized as the mere sum of a pure tact and an intraverbal. At the methodological level, the best strategies have been identified that could favor maximum language learning in people who may present verbal limitations, for example, from the autism spectrum group.
Perspectives
This is a paper on verbal behavior that presents an experimental design, a large sample of participants and statistical support.
