What is it about?
This new model for stakeholder mapping and analysis returns to first principles, plotting stakeholders in relation to the founding stakeholder definition with categorisation by primary interest.

Why is it important?
Whilst understanding stakeholders has become increasingly important, research in the events and festival sector indicated that there was no established model being used to map and analyse stakeholders. Indeed the conventional stakeholder models developed over the last 30 years were found to be outdated and have clear limitations. This new model set out to address those issues and provide a model that was fit for purpose in a contemporary context.
Perspectives
Using a case study approach, the model was found to be a great success, with clear potential for development to embrace further aspects of stakeholder dynamics such as factors and measures. It is also believed that the model has significant potential in other sectors and can contribute to the wider body of stakeholder theory.
