Why is it important?

This case study highlights service learning as a critical component to challenge students to move beyond surface level understandings of sustainability, transforming them into sustainability activists in local contexts.

Perspectives

This research was made possible in partnership with the Greater Denton Arts Council for allowing us to collaborate with them on a series of student-led community-centered workshops, aimed at raising sustainability awareness. We are also grateful for the ground-breaking user-experience research training by University of North Texas's Omari Souza, Assistant Professor of User-Experience Design.
