What is it about?
In every critique about any matter or concern, we often take for granted the positions from which the criticism evolves. Although we all agree that presumptions exist in almost all propositions, but we often forget to consider this insight when the foundational assumptions lie in a sphere that exists outside of the realm of a study. In this paper, a critique of Indian capitalism in considered in comparison with a fictional work, to uncover hidden presumptions of both authors, presumptions that exist outside of the realm of their critique; thus highlighting the episteme from which they function.

Why is it important?
As the world today battles with the ever polarising left or right political aspirations, one gets judged and another favoured more often than not in certain countries. Usually, the one under scrutiny has long been a target and the other gets overlooked in certain academic spheres. This research highlights one example of the gap in scrutiny that exists for the left leaning critiques of the liberal capitalist order of India, and how a critical eye must continue to gaze over the political horizon, no matter what's in fashion; the established or the radical.
Perspectives
The paper does not take sides, left, right or centre - these are out of bounds as a concern. What is the focal point, is critical thinking, a process that must never be forsaken, even if its lack serves an end goal that might align with one's personal aspirations.
