Why is it important?
As digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and social media continue to reshape higher education, understanding how Generation Z engages with these tools has become increasingly important. This study is unique because it provides current evidence from Ukrainian universities, offering insights into students' digital literacy, learning preferences, communication habits, and media use during a period of rapid technological change. Rather than focusing only on the benefits of digital technologies, the research also highlights challenges such as information overload, multitasking, and reduced concentration.
Perspectives
Technology should support learning rather than distract from it. I hope this publication encourages educators and researchers to view Generation Z as active participants in shaping the future of education and to design learning environments that balance technological innovation with meaningful human interaction and students' well-being.
