What is it about?

The study aimed to evaluate the influence of invasion of the vas deferens and seminal vesicles in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy for stage T3b tumor on biochemical recurrence. Retrospective analysis of 53 patients submitted to radical prostatectomy with anatomopathological stage T3b, at Hospital de Clínicas da Unicamp, between 1997 and 2014.

Why is it important?

In conclusion, this study has identified an elevated risk of biochemical recurrence in patients with both ductus deferens and seminal vesicle invasion.

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also lead to new finding about the biochemical recurrence in patients with prostate cancer
