What is it about?
In this pilot study, we examined a palliative care (PC) intervention among older adults with advanced kidney disease and their family members. We found that PC consultation was both feasible and acceptable. Additionally, the PC consultation was associated with significant improvements in the decision-making process for kidney therapy and in quality of life. A larger-scale intervention trial on this topic is needed in the future.
