What is it about?
Acute kidney injury (AKI) in people with newly diagnosed tuberculosis may be more common than previously thought, people both with and without HIV i co-infection. AKI is a major risk factor for early death. In low resource settings where TB is common, kidney function testing is should be available and considered at time of diagnosis.
