What is it about?
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a known cause of chronic kidney disease development and progression. It is very common and occurs across all gender and ages . Yet, it still receives little attention with late presentation and diagnosis, poor access to care including renal replacement therapy fueling its poor outcomes especially in developing countries. There is need for all (patients, their relatives, government, non-governmental organizations and healthcare providers) to join the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) to achieve the 0 by 25 goal of stopping all AKI-associated preventable deaths by the year 2025.
